OUR SURF CAMP'S APPROACH
Redondo Beach Surf Camps understands that summer camp is a time of growth and is a place where many children and teens develop new values and begin to mature. Our programs ensure that as students learn to surf, other values such as respect, self confidence, personal responsibility, kindness, and independence are also instilled.
Our curriculum is flexible and adaptable. We believe that each student is unique and we adjust our teaching practices to fit the needs of that student, in order to ensure that they have a positive surfing experience.

INSTRUCTOR'S AT SURF CAMP
Our instructors are comprised of professional surfers, lifeguards and teachers. All of our coaches are CPR and First Aid certified, and go through a three-month training program. The instructor training program is a rigorous boot camp of extensive ocean swimming, beach running, ocean lifeguarding, emergency response protocols, customer service, systematic surfing instruction, camp operations and safety training. We believe in hiring instructors that are not only advanced surfers with strong ocean confidence, but who also share and uphold our same values. It is important that all of our coaches can be seen as role models by our students.

At Redondo Beach Surf Camps, we've meticulously crafted our teaching methodology to create an optimal learning experience for our surfers. A vital component of this approach is our Premier Ratio Initiative, an innovative strategy that ensures a dynamic and personalized surfing journey for every student.
Our Premier Ratio Initiative is all about adapting to the needs of our students and the environment. This means our student-to-instructor ratios aren't fixed but are adjusted based on factors such as surf conditions, safety considerations, and the group's overall experience and maturity levels.
This adaptability allows us to maintain a high level of safety while maximizing the learning potential of each session. In more challenging surf conditions, we often provide a more personalized teaching approach, even going down to a 1:1 ratio when necessary. This level of individual attention extends to every student, creating a supportive learning environment that accelerates skill acquisition and builds confidence.
